Seriously good food...

We are a small gourmet food business based in Lake Cathie, on the beautiful mid-north coast of NSW, producing a range of hand-made fine foods.

Saffron Citrus Marmalade... mmmmOver the past 20 years as a Chef, Eric Robinson has received high acclaim for his innovative style and passion for hand-made food.

Eric has now created his own range of fine food products - designed to be versatile and easy to use in any kitchen. Made using fresh, quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible, the range is made without the addition of artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

Featured in Australian Country Style and Coast Living magazines, The Other Chef fine foods are available at selected gourmet food outlets.

It was during his time as chef/owner of Passionfish Brasserie in Coffs Harbour from ‘96 to ‘03 that Eric developed some of the unique combinations of flavours that are apparent in The Other Chef range. Passionfish was the recipient of numerous awards, including The Sydney Fish Market Awards ‘99 for NSW Regional Seafood Restaurant of the Year. The Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide ‘03 gave the following review …

“...the passionate artistry of Robinson adds up to seriously good food.”

The Other Chef fine foods are often available for tasting at food events throughout the north coast of NSW, such as Taste of the Hastings in Port Macquarie and the Coffs Harbour Food & Wine Festival. Eric is a regular guest at local cooking schools, as well as teaching Commercial Cookery at the North Coast Institute of TAFE NSW, where he enjoys sharing his passion for food and extensive repertoire of skills.

Integral to the development of The Other Chef brand is the other half of the team - Eric’s wife Monica. She holds a Diploma in Wine Marketing from the acclaimed Roseworthy College in South Australia and has had the pleasure to work within environments of great food and fine wines, including Brown Brothers Wines of Milawa, and Xanadu Winery in Margaret River.
